Why is the authorship shared? The one who drew the icon is the author of icon. And the other one shouldn't be set as author of icon corresponding to his resource unless he drew it.
Only artwork created by yourself may be uploaded, unless the original author has allowed you to upload his/her work.
Provide the proof of this (written permission etc.) right away.
Rules don't cover the moderation practice. What I stated earlier is the practice of icon section.Closest rule I see on authorship for the Icon Section is this:
Im more than happy to provide proof of permission, and I also put in very visible text to give credit to Mr.Goblin. Unless Im missing something, please dont create rules out of thin air.
Essentially a fancy way of saying you create rules out of thin air. I don't think the rules were made for that kind of interpretation.Rules don't cover the moderation practice. What I stated earlier is the practice of icon section.
Yes we don't have rule for who can be added as alternate author, however moderation practice is well known, at least to those who ever visit icon section. Following your logic, as long as two users agree to be put as authors they can, regardless of which one drew the icon? By that logic authors field can be used for describing inspiration or the matching model's author. It is well known that alternate authors were never the authors of corresponding resources for which icons are made for, not even when they were based on screenshots. Description was used to describe those. We have no rules about who can be author as long as the creator is an author as well. KILLCIDE contributed in some way to the creation of this icon with ideas and how he wanted it made. This is a non-issue.
bring this debate in the Mod loby.Yes we don't have rule for who can be added as alternate author, however moderation practice is well known, at least to those who ever visit icon section. Alternate author field so far was only used to describe that the icon is recolored version of in-game icon or when icon was edited by more than one user. I stand by what I have said in earlier posts. If you think your explanation for who can be credited as author by being added as alternate author makes any sense, add it to rules instead of presenting so confidently what you think is how things work in a random reply.
resolves the misunderstanding. From what @KILLCIDE told me. He basically drew the icon with @Mr.Goblin's hand. The icon making was a joint effort but executed through @Mr.Goblin's body. He contributed, so he can be an author on the icon.
