Naga - Fifth race for Melee mode

This bundle is marked as awaiting update. A staff member has requested changes to it before it can be approved.
Once upon a time, I made a full-fledged naga race for my campaign, but I got so carried away that I decided to make them for the Melee mode and ported them to several maps. The race came out, naturally, unbalanced, but that doesn’t matter.

Warcraft 3 version: 1.31.1 (+), Reforged is also suitable.
Graphics: SD only.
Languages: English, Russian. There is no need to configure the language, it will be automatically selected depending on your localization. Done using .wts files.

To play, put the Night Elves race in the lobby and select a 50% handicap.


Race Description
  • Macro race
  • Cheap buildings are built fast
  • Buildings can be placed on water
  • Buildings have natural regeneration
  • Units can swim
  • Has T4, powerful units
  • Has "free healing"
  • Units diversity, suitable for different situations
  • Powerful Casters
  • Chaos damage availability

Negative qualities:

  • Buildings are fragile
  • Dispel and “free healing” on T3
  • Lack of mechanical units
  • Monotonous Air (Couatl)
  • Units and buildings only regenerate during the day
  • Units are expensive

Why are there two different maps named the same? What's the difference between them exactly? In the game one of the player teams is named Concentration Aura. Feels useless to have a tier 1 building which trains only one unit and has two upgrades...

Why are there two different maps named the same? What's the difference between them exactly? In the game one of the player teams is named Concentration Aura.
  1. Feels useless to have a tier 1 building which trains only one unit and has two upgrades. Usually that's for last tier buildings like the Boneyard or Chimaera Roost.
  2. Then you have 4 in one building which clutters the wait to train them all if needed.
  3. Gem of True Seeing is very dangerous for tier 1 basically countering night elf Hide/Shadowmeld and Blademaster's Wind Walk.
  4. War Aura's description is broken.
  5. Confusion doesn't work. Cast on a group of sleeping gnolls and they always attack the hero.
  6. The towers are too bulky for their regular tower resistance and damage.
  7. Charge could use a custom icon not that of Boots of Quel'Thalas.
  8. Aura of Regeneration should look passive. It can be changed with: Button Manager v1.8.2
  9. Devotee is too weak for a high tier unit.
  10. The Couatl has no more an ability to dispel. I guess it's on the summoner now.
  11. Not sure if Spider Silk Broach is fitting since you already have units with Ensnare.
  12. Poison's upgrade icon should look active. Can be done with the program linked above. Same with Magic Immunity. This one's description is broken.
  13. Hallucination's icon should also look active; actually it needs a custom one since that one is used by Human towers.
  14. Of course the big advantage that all of the troops can go on water. At least not all submerge.
For now, it's not enough for approval as most gameplay mechanics are just reused core game abilities.

ADDITIONAL NECESSARY INFORMATION
  • A credits list in the map thread description is required where the names of the resource (models, skins, icons, spells, sound etc.) authors are mentioned along with the specific resource. It would be a luxury to have links leading to the used resources. Credits in the Quest Log would be appreciated too.
  • A detailed changelog in the first post would be helpful to reviewers and notify fans about the newest implementations to your map.
  • Map thread tags are important. Please use those that fit and not more or none.

When I uploaded cards to this page, for some reason the site gave the second card the same name as the first. I tried deleting cards and adding new ones, but the same thing happened. Still, if you download the maps, they will have the original name.

I agree about the rest...
