Does anyone know how/if it is possible to make a hero unit's proper name reflect the name of their owner? Possibly a way to use a string variable in the proper name field?
this has been asked like 10 times, and the answer is: NO, you cannot set the name of the Hero to the name of his owning player, neither with triggers, nor with object editor (unless you know the players name before you play the map)
That's right.. I remember some map, that gave this option InGame, but it was marked with the note: " For now it's not possible, but we'll try to contact Blizzard, if they could offer us some way to do this."
But this never changed.. so Nope it's not possible and it won't be possible in future
I didn't think it was possible either since I've never seen it done before. I hate running into roadblocks when I'm trying to create new things! I was hoping there was some way to get around it by using JASS. Oh well.
I asked the same some time ago and maybe you coud leave the Hero's Name empty and create a text above the Hero (maybe it blocks the sight before or behind you, but it's a easy way).
