Modify Sound

Simply put, I want to make the sound emitted by the default fire to be more silent, or make the area in which you can hear it smaller.
Both fireplace, brazier etc

Maybe I could find the soundfile and modify it with some third party program, would that be the best solution?
It is either that or editing each fire related model somehow?

Oddly enough, the fire pit and brazier models don't have any event object for sound emitters, which leaves me quite puzzled.

I guess you can locate the sound you want in the sound editor, modify it (Audacity works great for that stuff) and import it back.
