📝 Competition Details and Guidelines

The rules are simple but crucial: select a classic Warcraft 3 model of your choice and retexture it to its Final Form. Let your imagination run wild as you enhance the details, colors, and effects, giving your chosen unit an awe-inspiring upgrade. Show the world what the pinnacle of power and elegance looks like!

To ensure a fair and exciting competition, here are the essential guidelines to follow:
  1. Contestants must be registered members of the Hive Workshop community. Don't worry if you haven't joined yet; it's easy to become a member and take part in community events! Sign up here!

  2. Retexturing should be the primary focus of your submission i.e. no model edits are allowed. Create a new skin and add any modifications to the texture that will make your unit truly stand out through clever use of texturing techniques.

  3. Remember to provide a before-and-after comparison image (WIP), showcasing the impressive transformation you've accomplished in the contest thread.

  4. Submissions should be uploaded to the Hive Workshop's Skins section before the deadline, which is August 23, 2023. Your entry must include "Texturing Contest #32: Final Form" in the description to be considered for the competition. Late entries will not be accepted, so mark your calendars and don't miss out on this fantastic opportunity!

Calling all 3D artists and digital sculptors! The Hive Workshop, renowned as a hub for creative masterminds, proudly presents its highly anticipated 5th HD Modeling Contest, and this time, it's all about monsters! Brace yourselves for an exhilarating challenge that will push the boundaries of your artistic prowess and immerse you in a world of mythical monsters and eerie tales.

The theme for this year's contest is "Creep Camp." Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to create 3-4 HD unit models that belong to the same "monster family" or Creep Camp. This contest presents a unique opportunity to showcase your skills and give life to creatures that will leave the community in awe.

What's even more thrilling about this year's HD Modeling Contest is the incredible lineup of prizes that await the winners. This time the prize pool has been increased to unprecedented heights! Not only will you have the chance to gain recognition among your peers and industry professionals, but you will also have the opportunity to win BOOSTED rewards.

The three winners will be receive an impressive reward of increased EXP, award trophies, along with a feature on the Hive Workshop YouTube channel, where your talent will be admired by a vast community of artists and enthusiasts. Observer Mode

  • Added the option to disable/enable observer mode UI. This is automatically set OFF by default
  • Added click-to-follow in the observer mode UI by clicking the command card.
  • Removed the control panel and moved the command card to the far right. Hotkeys for toggling menus are available in the help menu.
  • Production bar progress color is now white.
  • Hotkey to swap to the Production panel is “Alt +P”, and to swap to the Unit panel, is “Alt + U”.
  • Added new features and Updated UI for Observer Mode.
  • All panels can be toggled on and off individually, using hotkeys or the Control Panel.
  • Added Statistics Panel: you can now view the Race, Gold, Lumber, Food, and APM of all players in the game at once.

  • Fixed an issue in the new Tournament service causing games to not process.
  • Fixed an issue where if a player disconnected in a ranked play, the game would not process for all players.
  • Fixed a bug causing a front-end memory leak.
  • The elimination bracket is now visible.
  • Fixed a bug preventing Tournament games from being scored.
  • Fixed a bug that prevented the game from shutting down gracefully when viewing the Tournament leaderboards.
  • Fixed an issue causing dead heroes to still be present in the unit panel in observer mode.
  • Removed tint behind Production and Unit Panel.
  • Fixed a bug causing some locales to display 12-hour time where 24-hour time is intended.
