You guys (including Hell_Master, excluding Shadow Fury) are all very liberal.
First of all I want to comment about the comments made earlier that suggest custom abilities and shared unit control. The way I see this, the idea of the map is to offer players the option to play together the Warcraft 3 Tutorial. It's not about custom stuff or differentiation from Blizzard's original. Simple as that.
Moving on: No offence to the mapmaker, but this map does not deserve a rating higher rating than 3/5 in
any way. Shadow Fury seemed the only one to note this, but he quickly changed decision based on few comments which is disappointing.
The map is an edit of an existing Warcraft 3 map. Only few ability changes and minor coding done to it to support 2 players. And you give that 4/5?
I am sorry, Hell_Master is my friend, but he is way too liberal and kind to others.
This map has a rating of 4/5. Noone here can convince me in
ANY way that the linked map is equally good to what we have here.
To the person saying this map deserves 5/5. No, my friend.
This deserves 5/5. Probably months have been invested in it. A unique environment, abilities, lore and characters created from scratch. And this 2-player map? It's an edit. Nothing more, nothing less, nothing special.
Most of you are all fairly new here, but I remember when maps had to be pretty damn good, only
to be approved. To get 5/5 you actually had to work hard and make a high quality project. Now moderators throw high ratings here and there like candy.
I don't mean to offend the mapmaker, nor his map. Contributing to the Hive in any way is always welcome. What I am disappointed at is how the criterias for moderating maps have greatly dropped and how easily high ratings are given nowadays.
I worked on my map (Sunken City) for more than a year
just to get ANY rating, and when I did it was 4/5. At that time I had invested more than 1,5 years in it. To get 5/5 I worked hard for another year.
To Mr.
Heinvers who goes around, shouting in full caps about 5/5 ratings: Fellow, Heinvers. When you invest enough time in a map (Talking about unique map of your own, that you created from scratch, not an edit) and work hard on it and you understand how hard it is to get a rating of 5/5, only then you can start crossing others and shoving your opinion at them in full caps.
EDIT: To Shadow Fury. No, friend. You gave the most accurate rating, which in my opinion (as a mapmaker for almost 4 years) should be the final one. (3/5)
EDIT 2: I would personally give this 3/5, only because people could find it interesting to play the tutorial with a friend.
